Welcome to The River! We are very glad you have visited the website of our church family. We recognize that searching for a church to call home is an anxious and daunting endeavor. As parents ourselves, we understand the need to know how a church feels about children, how we approach caring for them and keeping them safe while they are in our care. As a team committed to the spiritual development of the children, we would like to share with you our approach.

First of all, since the planting of The River in 1994 in a living room, we have made ministry to children a high priority. We have always believed that it is every adult's responsibility to be involved in some fashion regarding the spiritual covering and discipleship of our kids, not merely those "called" to children's ministry. Since the beginning, we have enjoyed at least a 90% participation rate of River adults in children's ministries. This is a testimony to our value that what goes on in the children's rooms is as spiritual as what is happening in the adult service. Every leader at The River has been involved with children at some point.

Today, we serve the pre-school age children through a team of adults who have a great burden for this age group. This team plans, coordinates, and oversees every aspect of pre-school ministry from curriculum to room decor. All the while, the team is supported by adults who rotate teaching the classes on Sundays. Every adult who serves is in one of our Life Groups and is therefore known by the leadership very well. Each class will always have two adults present for accountability and to ensure the safety of our kids. In addition there is a Service Support Supervisor who serves the needs of the teachers and the parents during the service.
