The River Church is part of the The International Church of the Foursquare Gospel. We support and take part in their outreach to 110 countries worldwide. And specifically for our own church family, we look for opportunities here in Fort Collins and to places extending abroad that we believe God has purpose for our involvement. We partner with existing ministry's when possible and we look for ways to forge new grounds of outreach. Come take a look some of the places we have or are going. |
Operation Christmas Child - this year we sent some 20 shoe box's filled with needed items to Samaritan's Purse. Samaritan's Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan's Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God's love through His Son, Jesus Christ. Homelessness Prevention Initiative 2007 -- We learned this past October that it normally takes $229 dollars a month to keep a struggling Fort Collins family in their home. We also took the opportunity to help support this need. According to Poudre School District, Fort Collins that 20% percent of homeless children do not attend school. They are twice as likely to go hungry. 4 times as likely to develop learning handicaps and up to 6 times more likely to get acutely sick. Click here to learn more. 424 W. Pine St., #102
The church counsel of The River understands the importance of supporting Christian Para - organizations. We support AlphaCenter monthly by way of financial contributions. Alpha Center is a Christian organization that provides counsel and support to individuals making decisions about sexuality, relationships, and pregnancy issues. Click here for more information.
In April 2007 the Gideons brought an understanding of their goal and message. The Gideons International is an interdenominational association of Christian business and professional men who are members of Protestant/evangelical churches. Our members are dedicated to saving the lost through personal witnessing and the distribution of God's Word in more than 180 countries around the world. Click here for more information.
Monterrey Mexico 2007 In January of 2007 the Rocky Mountain District of church's which we are a part of with Foursquare International took five pastors to Monterrey Mexico. The goal of the outreach was informative for the district and to raise awareness of needs rather than evangelistic. We met with many pastors in the region, listened to their needs, traded ideas and shared a lot of common struggles. Click Here to view pictures and learn more from this trip.
Toft's Brett and Tammy Toft are now missionaries in the Scandinavia region for Foursquare Missions International. They are forging new territory in a region of the world that has intellectually outgrown God. Denmark leads in liberal culture and policy. As well they are very benevolent especially when it come s to contributing to the developing nations. |
